Nearly one-third of the NFL’s teams have spent a season or more at a temporary location.

Listed below are the proposed temporary moves that have reportedly grabbed the interest of the NFL’s current franchises.

Proposed NFL Team Relocation: Temporary Locations

The list only includes temporary relocation. Click here for a list of proposed “permanent” NFL team relocation. Click here for a list of proposed “permanent” NFL team relocation within the same metro area.

Temporary relocation can be defined as a team that relocates with the intention of moving back to the same city they left, and/or is waiting for a new stadium, while also spending at least one-third of their home games at the listed location.

The list only includes current NFL teams.

The list is an ongoing project. I have created an extensive list, but I imagine there is still some missing information. If you have any cited information or leads please contact this site.

Sources: Click here to view the sources I used to compile this list. It’s a lengthy document but it’s organized by franchise.

From 1971 to 1980, the temporary locations listed – including Solider Field – are considered temporary moves because it appeared the Bears would soon move into a new stadium. Despite decades of strong support for a new stadium, nobody could organize a feasible plan.
