The USA Today first started ranking high school football teams in 1982. Since then 41 different states have made appearances in the USA Today’s Super 25 final rankings.   • Teams from the states of Alaska, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Vermont, have never made appearances in the final USA Today Super 25.
  • In the final USA Today Super 25 of 2008, the state of California had five ranked teams. It’s the most ranked teams by one state in the final Super 25.
